Mom Health - Do you struggle with putting your life first? Do your family and your career always come first over taking time for your health? Many of us have the same issues! We’re all so busy with our family life, we forget about us in the process of living.

10 Steps to a Healthier You:

1. Take Breaks. Take frequent breaks while working. Take a walk, run errands, or just make some phone calls. Breaks are important for your physical and mental health.

2. Exercise Regularly. We do get a lot of exercise as mothers, but it may not be the type that’s best for us. Join a gym if you can? Develop an exercise program for home if you can’t.

3. Eat Right. We often eat in a rush everyday or on the road, while driving our children around. Even if you eat out sometimes you still can make health choices.

4. Get Enough Sleep. We’re all guilty of not sleeping enough, even if our bodies need it.

5. Hydratation. Drink water throughout the day to keep you engery up and your mind fresh.

6. Stretching. Most of us don’t stretch at all, even if we exercise regularly. As we age, we really need to focus on stretching.

7. Take Vacations. When was the last time you took a real vacation? Many of us take too few vacations. Even if your busy you can take regular weekend trips to refresh.

8. Have Regular Moms Nights. We’re all so busy we often loose track of our friendships over time. We need the support of our female friends for emotional health. Time to get back to social networking at it’s best!

9. Practice Proper Ergonomics. Do you know what ergonomics is? Your body position while moving and sitting can effect your health something to consider

10. Invite Love and Positivity into Your Life. We all benefit from love and positive people have a great effect on our lives.

I feel it is very important to support other women in their endeavors. On both my sites I try to mention women entrepreneurs regularly. I try to always show my feelings - being very pro female entrepreneur. I am proud to be a woman and just as proud of all the amazing women on the web. It is true the web is a very male dominated place or let’s just say it has been previously been very male dominated place. Times are really changing, more women are really thriving on the web.

Many of us who are on the web regularly, have notice a trend which has developed. Careers are developing from the needs of successful wahms (work at home moms) needing to outsource some of their responsibilities. All new branches of support services for web based businesses have exploded. Outsourcing everything from emails which someone else can help you with to technology – tools which would make your life easier. You wish you could take the time to learn it all yourself, but you need to focus on the more important things. You can only handle so much in a day, you need to prioritize. Doing things the older way costs you time. Help exists, why not try a new service to ease up the inbox or help you with your affiliates. Once you start to become overwhelmed with your new site or business reach out to other women, ask for help. Tell other women what areas you are struggling with. Someone may just know of a mom looking to start a career as a virtual assistant, she may what o start out by helping you! Your business success, may just create another business success, which is exactly what’s happening with many wahms on the web.

Have a Networking Day,

Have you ever had one? I have had several lately. I have found easy ways and free ways to network. Yes, I said free! Social Networking sites are great for networking. You can find others with similar interests to yours by joining the groups on the social sites. A warm non pushy introduction is the best way to get to know others in the group. Once you know the others in the group and they know you some, you can start networking. You can send them a message about your business and offer your services or help. Even better yet, ask them about their business as a conversation starter. I usually ask if anyone is a Wahm like me, if it is a parenting type group or small business group.

I recently ordered a gift for a family member from a local business. I looked it up online because it’s easier for me to compare businesses and products. It turned into a networking moment, because we live in the same area, there was an instant trust. I called the company to follow up on my order after I placed it. I asked about her business. I told her I like her products and I told her about my businesses. I complimented her on her shopping cart and website (Which she did, herself. I was impressed and told her so) and the conversation grew. There are many honest good business owners out there. Share with other business owners and learn from them. During the process of networking and growing your own business.

Networking on My WAHM Space: The Basics

“My WAHM Space” is a great new way for women who have businesses to network with each other! Each week, registered members (registration is free) of this fantastic community get together on the web forums, live chats and other fun events designed to help women showcase their businesses and talk about the challenges of owning a business. Each member gets their very own profile page where they may include information about their business including links to their personal blogs and business website(s). Then at different times throughout the week, members can hold online chats to sell their products and they offer some great deals!

Of course, there are web discussion forums and chats where Mom’s can ask questions, talk with each other, vent if needed and find a social outlet that encourages and educates all. My WAHM Space is better than other social networking sites out there because here you can find other Mom’s who can relate to and understand the unique challenges of being both a Mom and a busy business-person. Where else can you find true friends who share the same experiences, trials and successes as you?

Not only can you share ideas with other Mom’s, but you can build a blog and use the power of the Internet to write about your life, your business and any other interests you may have. Use this tool to post pictures about yourself, the products or services you offer and how other Mom’s can benefit from learning more about you. You can add a group of favorite members and get to know them through the weekly activities available, plus save time and money in your advertising efforts. Send email reminders out to your friends and family and other members to come check out what’s new. My WAHM Space is full of opportunities to use social networking to build your business and make friends at the same time, so I encourage you to check it out today.

Seven Steps to Savvy Forum Networking by Denise Willms

For Internet entrepreneurs and home-based business owners, forum networking is quickly becoming one of the most popular ways to build online business connections. It makes sense – a business is built on relationships, and online forums are the best places on the Web to meet people, share your knowledge, and ask your questions.

But before you log on to the first forum you find and start promoting your new business opportunity, take a moment to brush up on your forum etiquette. Like any other social activity, forum networking has its own mores and guidelines. Follow these seven steps to become a savvy forum networker.

1. Read the rules before you play the game. Most forums have threads that explain how they work. Look for threads titled Forum Rules and FAQ and read them before you make your first post.

2. Get a feel for the forum by reading previous posts before you jump in. This will help you find the right place to invest your valuable time.

Who are the members? Do they discuss issues that interest you? As a writer and a mother, I look for forums that discuss writing and the challenges of being a work at home mom.

Do you have the answers they’re looking for? If you have the expertise that the members need, you can make a valuable contribution to the community and build your reputation as an expert in your field.

Forum networking is also one of the best ways to learn about your ideal client. Join some of the forums your target market frequents and you’ll learn what’s really on their minds.

3. Once you’ve found a forum you like, take the time to introduce yourself. Look for an Introduce Yourself thread, or something similar. Share who you are and what you do. Let the other members know you’ve joined their group and that you look forward to getting to know them.

4. Don’t mistake “telling them what you do” for “advertise your business.” Ads are not welcome in any your forum posts, and they make a particularly bad impression in your introduction. Look for a thread called Ads and save your promotional material for that thread only.

5. No ad you post will ever be as persuasive as engaging in meaningful conversation with the other forum members. Let others get to know you through your friendly and informative posts, and you will win their trust and loyalty for your business.

6. Place a link to your website in your signature and add your signature to the end of each of your posts. Here is where you get to advertise your newsletter, describe your latest business opportunity, brag about your newest e-book. If you’ve made an interesting and helpful comment, other forum members will be tempted to click on the link and learn more about your business.

7. Spend some time every day visiting each of the forums you participate in. Create a folder of forums in your browser’s Favorites folder to help you keep track. It’s a good personal goal to submit an informative post and welcome a few new members each time you visit.

Combine your informative posts and signature with regular visits, and you’ll be well on your way to building your network and making friends online.
